These large waders, famous for their long migrations can be found at the St Lucia estuary in the summer months (although a few overwinter). Common nowhere, they are always a special sight. 


Their long upturned pinkish bill, large size,  and barred upper tail render this species unmistakable from other wafer species in St Lucia.

Bar-tailed godwit can often be found in the company of other waders.
