Black-throated wattle-eye occur in pairs or small family groups at forest edge in St Lucia- especially areas with mangrove/lagoon hibiscus bordering water or in the vicinity of fruiting fig trees.
They are aggressively territorial and very vocal.
They are very busy, active feeders and are often found in mixed species bird parties.
