Olive bush-shrike are common winter visitors to the forests surrounding St Lucia.

They move to higher, warmer latitudes in the winter where it is warmer with more abundant invertebrate life.

They are often members of mixed-species bird parties and are often found in the company of other bush-shrikes and/or green malkoha.

They have a preference for areas with Acacia trees.
