These small cisticola’s are a winter visitor (altitudinal migrant) to the coastal grasslands and wetlands surrounding St Lucia and in the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park.
They are Inconspicuous, mostly silent and in non-breeding plumage during the winter and therefore difficult to see and differentiate from similar cisticola’s.
In spring however, they become more vocal and the males show their characteristic black lores and pale crown- aiding easier identification.
