​These beautiful, boldly colored mannikins are usually found at forest edge, forest clearings and road edges where there are plentiful seeding grasses.


They are often found in mixed flocks with other seed-eaters such as Grey waxbill, Green twinspot, Bronze mannikin and Yellow-fronted canary.
