Rudd’s apalis are usually found in pairs in forest and forest edge surrounding St Lucia, especially areas with tall Dune thorn (Acacia karroo subspecies. kosiensis)
They are aggressively territorial and are therefore very vocal - making regular territorial advertisement calls throughout the day.
They are often in the company of Yellow-breasted apalis and also like to join mixed species bird parties.
