​Western osprey can be found along the entire coastline but favour calm protected bays such as Cape Vidal, Maphelane or Crayfish point where surface feeding fish such as Mullet or Halfbeaks are found. They also hunt in the estuary, Lake and its tributaries or on rock ledges where they take larger fish such as Blacktail seabream and Strepie from rockpools on the low tide.
